If you’ve missed my posts, I am sorry for the protracted absence.
My family recently added a new member and she has been a drain on my energy. It takes a lot out of me in the effort to take a lot out of her. We have been pretty diligent in the walking the dog department trying to sap her energy reserves by walking her roughly 4.5 miles per day.
That may not sound like much, but when you haven’t walked much in the last several years–especially in 90 degree heat–it can take a lot out of you.
When she is tired, she’s a bit less bitey (my word) and that is what we’re going for here.
She’s been kind of a blessing, too. I have been pretty depressed lately about a litany of things and she kind of makes it seem okay to an extent.
When I walk through the door and she races to greet me, her little tail wagging, feverishly licking my hand and rolling around like a pinball makes me smile. I’m grateful that someone (and, yes to me she is a someone) is that happy that I came home.
I don’t know if her attention is a cure all, but for now it will have to do.
The picture at the top of the post is her attempting to drink and cool herself simultaneously. That’s it for now. I’ll catch y’all later.
