As Ferris Bueller said in his movie, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”
Don’t get me wrong. This movie is one of my all-time favorites. How could something so profound come from such a goofy movie?
I took half the day yesterday to make pizza for dinner for family–including the extended–in preparation of watching Sophie’s spring performance in Stewartsville, MO yesterday.
I know I complained about snow at the end of April a couple of weeks ago, but how was I to know it would smack us again in May?
This time I didn’t get angry about it, I just enjoyed the show for what it was, which was basically a freak of nature. I’m not saying there isn’t snow routinely on the ground somewhere in May, but this has to be a record for this part of the country. Fortunately for us, the snow was mostly a mixture and never really stuck to the ground.
There were things that I would rather have been doing, but I chose to ignore that and focus on the positive, which was while I was making our pizza, from scratch, I got to watch Ferris Bueller’s Day Off for the first time in quite a while.
At least for a day I didn’t just watch as life went barreling by me, I embraced the conditions and actually enjoyed them and it was really pleasant.

Merely Mindless Musings 
I too had not seen Ferris Bueller for a long time until the other day. Now I set here wondering if you and I, in some kind of cosmic beauty, were watching Ferris at the same time. Is Ferris the power that binds you and I together. If so I say danke schoen universe, danke schoen. I wonder who would be Ferris and who would be Cameron (or if you would like you can be Sloane). Either way I would like to reenact the pool scene. Oh can George be Mr. Rooney. I think he would be an awesome Rooney.
